A CLASSIC PENTECOST

The old-fashioned Holy Ghost Revival Camp meeting is a unique event that belongs to revival history and the modern Christian has probably only read about it rather than had the actual experience of it. Most people might even equate it with youth camps. Some may also merely relate it to camping in general. The Good news is that God is still moving in the old-fashioned way, bringing the fullness of Pentecost in the very dimension of Acts 2 of our bibles. The recent camp meeting on November 7ths at Kangaroo Flat Secondary College Bendigo, was an experience never to be forgotten – the like of which probably never has been seen in this country. It was as if we were at the original authentic Pentecost in the apostolic day.

‘…in that day… his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder; and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.’ Isaiah 10:27

FROM CRUSADE BASE MELBOURNE

The last eight months of our launch-out phase have been a Blitz of Holy Ghost Power across several cities and towns in Victoria. Even as the Spirit of God spoke to me on that midnight hour of May 19, 1992, it has most particularly been a River of Healing Power!

Over this whole season, we have been contending for the faith – a faith that rests, not in the wisdom of words and excellency of speech, but in the power of God (1 Corinthians 2:4-5). With a record of about 17 public Healing and Miracle Revival crusades, we have on every occasion and without exception, witnessed a dynamic move of God in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power. (1 Corinthians 2:4-5).

As you read this very first edition, you will learn of Camp meeting Bendigo, the most powerful Holy Ghost Revival meeting since we began our ministry. I venture to suggest that this would probably be a milestone in the 200 or so years of Australian Christianity. It was the most perfect Pentecost.

Since May 1992, God has poured forth the Spirit. It is flowing as Rivers of living Water. It is a move of God that has continued non-stop to date and for most of us, it tastes like revival! What a terrific open door to reach Australian with the power of God! God is confirming the preaching with signs following.

Launching Into Crusade Ministry with Pastor Michael Kolisang

At the big gospel tent in Lesotho

In early January 1992, Eton Mills attended the United Charismatic Convention in Adelaide. He was then able to secure an appointment to see Evangelist Michael Kolisang by the help and permission of Dr. Barry Chant. Michael Kolisang was co-evangelist for 18 years with Rev. Reinhard Bonnke of Christ for all Nations, a ministry that has shaken Africa and the World. By the plan of God, Mills asked to visit ‘Fill the Gap Ministries’ in Maseru, Lesotho and where Michael Kolisang is engaged in an aggressive church building and church planting ministry based on a powerful thrust of Holy Ghost crusade evangelism across Lesotho and in South Africa itself.

In February 1992, Eton Mills travelled to Lesotho. From Gaborone in Botswana, he got in contact with Evangelist Kolisang by telephone. On the other end of the line, Michael Kolisang was enthusiastic to expect his visiting pastor from Australia but it had not occurred to him, that this would be Eton Mills. Just before his telephone rang, he had just heard the Holy Spirit say ‘There is a preacher coming from overseas and he will preach in your gospel tent on Sunday’. He had just mentioned to his wife what the Holy Spirit had said and then the pone rang. In the excitement of what the Holy Spirit was doing, bringing this to pass so quickly, Michael Kolisang had no had the moment to think it could be this man. When Eton Mills arrived, Michael Kolisang was a bit surprised but glad anyhow, and extended the invitation for him to preach at the tent meeting.

Having witnessed Michael Kolisang in action in one two-week crusade with Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke in Zambia in 1985, Eton Mills felt very highly honoured by God and also by such a distinguished and eminent international mass crusade evangelist.

Back in Adelaide, Eton had been one of those that had been knocked out under the power of God as Michael Kolisang had passed by laying hands on people that they would be filled and burning with the fire of God.

The Turning Point

Now under a Big Gospel Tent, Eton Mills was the preacher! What an honour! This was to be a turning point in his life. He had barely finished preaching when the holy Ghost fell on the congregation and an explosion of prophetic utterance in tongues followed and Michael Kolisang was cut short as he was about to bring the interpretation as further utterance proceeded form another quarter of the congregation. Both had to do with the one and same matter of the ministry of the visiting minister. Accordingly, by interpretation and obedience to the direction of the Holy Spirit, Pastor and Evangelist Michael Kolisang together with associate church ministers proceeded to administer the laying on of hands upon Eton Mills before and together with the church there at ‘Fill the Gap Healing Centre’.

According to the prophetic utterance, Eton was sent out and commissioned to return to Australia and to launch into crusade ministry. Little did he know that in about three months the prophecy would begin to come to pass.

OUR VISION

A River of Healing power is touching our nation in a whole new way. Unknown over most of Australian, Gospel of the Kingdom, a new mobile miracle ministry based in Melbourne, is gathering momentum as the Power of God continues to manifest in various towns and cities where we are conducting Healing Miracle revivals. It is indeed a fresh move of the Holy Ghost. Travelling from city-to-city, we are hearing the sound of revival!

Our Vision: to reach the cities and touch the world with a river of healing power by the Power of God. Our mission is to advance in Power Evangelism through the miracle ministry of Jesus Christ. We believe that we have begun to experience a wave of Anointing that has the capacity to reach a nation. Together, we can see the living Christ touch Australia.

A FLAME OF FIRE

It all began at midnight of May 19, 1992. Eton Mills, pastor of a small church in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne, suddenly felt like he stood in a flame of fire and he sensed the anointing of the Holy Spirit come all over him as he stood by the kitchen bench at home. He had just been pondering and wondering what else could be done to help bring about an outpouring of the Spirit of Revival. His small congregation had been engaged in protracted prayer meetings for about eight months and had experienced breakthroughs in intercession for the cities on the basis of John Dawson’s book ‘Taking Our Cities for God’. Following a systematic approach to that teaching, this little non-denominational congregation had amazingly advanced into a very dynamic knowledge of prayer experience that could only open the door for the Holy Ghost. Needless to say, it happened at the midnight hour when it was least expected and in a manner of God’s own choosing.

Pastor Eton Mills could not wait til the next day to tell the Good News but proceeded to call on some Christian friends praying with them that same night. The miracles began to happen! By the laying on of hands, people fell under the power of God. In one week he had held meetings in Bendigo and Melbourne and God moved with such power that most people were overcome by the power of the Holy Ghost. In some spontaneous meetings in certain homes, God would suddenly touch families and visiting friends, leaving most lying on the floor, having been slain in the spirit, so to speak. In some places, some folk have spoken in other languages as the Holy spirit fell on them in such automatic fashion that it has furnished us with opportunity to witness the living reality of the biblical Pentecost. This particular reference to the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is becoming a frequent occurrence in our meetings especially the old-fashioned camp meetings that we have began to organise. On the night of May 19th, as the Holy Spirit began to move upon Eton, he heard the Holy Spirit speak to him in his heart saying, ‘It is going to be a river of healing power. Sicknesses and diseases will vanish as you step out to lay hands on the sick’. Under God’s command, he was to place no limit on God but to proceed with crusade ministry.

For the last eight months he has been setting up public meetings in Town Halls and other venues in various cities and towns in Victoria preaching the Gospel with signs and wonders following. He has also ministered in churches by invitation. We have conducted revivals in Melbourne, Bendigo, Daylesford, Wonthaggi, Poowong, Geelong and Seymour and in over 17 public crusades we have seen the Power of God in demonstration and in action on every occasion. We have seen healing and deliverance on a grand scale and the Camp meeting of November 7, 1992 in Bendigo sent a Holy Ghost shock wave that brought an anointing of such magnitude that it may have been a historic landmark on the Australian church landscape.

We had had only about one week to prepare and organise the camp meeting but earnestly desired to experience old-time Holy Ghost revival in the classical camp meeting environment. Then behold and lo, God gave us a visitation of power never before dreamed of!

Beginning at 10.00 am, Gospel preacher Eton Mills urged the participants to look to God and to expect the incredible and the unlimited move of the Spirit of God which, he indicated, could change the very destiny of the lives of some of those present.

It is a move of God that has continued non-stop to-date and for most of us it tastes like Revival!

Worship and prayer in the Holy Ghost at appropriate intervals and the day was to be concluded with a healing rally which soon got under way as some people began to collapse under the awesome power of God before the healing line started. At the end of the healing rally, as we were closing the meeting, a sudden wave of Holy Ghost power hit the place and the people began falling over under the influence of the Holy Ghost, with so many rolling on the floor and speaking with other languages by the sovereign hand of God, it was indeed, a Pentecost for today. Some rising, staggering and falling several times, were so overcome by the power of God, they looked drunk. What a baptism in the Holy Spirit! Jesus has said, ‘But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you” (Acts 1:8). There is no substitute for Holy Ghost power and there is nothing like an old-fashioned camp meeting!

Revival at Your Door Step

What, then, is an old-fashioned camp meeting? The camp meeting went for several days like any modern Christian camp but ideally, its purpose, focus and emphasis was on the moving of the Holy Ghost and on being there to receive more than a touch from heaven. God gave healing, deliverance, the baptism in the Holy Ghost and unbelieving friends that were brought along got saved as well. In short, it set the stage for a Pentecost.

Here at the end of 1992, we were able, by the grace of God, to experience the old-fashioned camp meeting. Today this means Revival at your door step! We are expecting many more camp meetings as we move through the cities of Australia and we know that it will happen again.
